Upload a transcript

Verbatim Voices uses your file only to make the audio. No one at Verbatim Voices reads the document, including the owner of this service. We do not use your file, the recording, or the words to train anything of our own.

We check the file before any paid voice is used. If a scanned page is too poor to read reliably, we stop and tell you, and we do not make audio. If the file can be read, we show the length and the cost. The recording starts only after you confirm.

The words are sent, encrypted, to Amazon Polly so it can make the recording. This account is set to opt out of Amazon using that text to improve Amazon's models. Amazon's security notes say Polly does not keep the text of a speech request. Amazon's privacy FAQ says that, without this opt-out, it may store text to improve its services, and that authorized Amazon staff can access content Polly processes. The opt-out is on.

After the recording is made, a check on our computer listens and compares it with the page. That audio is not sent to a speech company.

Your upload, the recording, the listen-along page, and the listening notes are stored encrypted. They are deleted automatically 48 hours after the audio is ready. You can delete them sooner. We do not keep a copy. The email we send contains only the private link and the deletion time.

The private link is the way to open the files until they are deleted. Anyone who has the link can listen until then. This audio is a convenience copy. It is not an official record. Upload only a file you have the right to use.
